Anthony Pompliano’s Net Worth: What the Public Filings Actually Show

Anthony Pompliano has no confirmed net worth. The one part of his wealth that is documented and can be priced is his stake in ProCap Financial, the Nasdaq-listed company he chairs and runs. That stake was worth roughly $33 million at the market close on August 20, 2026. His bitcoin, his private investments and any debts he carries appear in no public record, so a full total cannot be verified.

Here is what is on file, how he built the money, and why the figure moves so much from one month to the next.

What Anthony Pompliano owns on paper

Pompliano beneficially owns 14,647,595 shares of ProCap Financial (Nasdaq: BRR), which works out to 16.43% of the company. The number comes from the Schedule 13D/A he filed with the SEC in April 2026.

The stake splits into two pieces.

HoldingSharesValue at $2.24 a share
Held directly by Pompliano298,001about $668,000
Held by Professional Capital Management14,349,594about $32.1 million
Total beneficial ownership14,647,595about $32.8 million

The 298,000 shares he holds outright were bought on the open market on December 17, 2025 using his own money, for more than $1 million. He also owns one share he bought for a tenth of a cent when the company was set up in June 2025. Everything else sits inside Professional Capital Management, his investment firm, which received 10,562,500 shares when ProCap went public in December 2025 and another 3,787,094 in April 2026 when ProCap bought an AI company called CFO Silvia.

When he made that purchase he said the only equity he personally owned was stock bought on the open market, like any other retail investor. The bigger block came later, and it came through his firm rather than as a personal grant.

Much of that block cannot be sold yet. The Silvia shares are locked up until at least six months after the deal closed and until BRR trades at $9.00 or above. The stock closed at $2.24 on August 20, 2026. A further 453,426 shares sit in escrow and do not count toward his ownership until they are released.

How much bitcoin does Anthony Pompliano own?

He has never said. There is no coin count, no wallet address and no dollar figure. What he has given, repeatedly, is the share of his wealth held in it, and that share climbed fast. On CNBC in August 2019 he put it at more than half. By late 2020 he described it as 80%, with the rest spread across cash, real estate and early-stage companies. By 2021 he was saying 95%.

If anything close to that concentration still holds, his personal balance sheet tracks one price. Bitcoin traded near $72,900 on August 20, 2026, after peaking around $126,000 in October 2025. A fortune weighted that heavily would have swung by tens of millions of dollars across those ten months without him buying or selling a thing.

Concentration that high cuts both ways. It is what turned a decent tech-career fortune into a large one between 2019 and 2021. It is also what has been pulling the same fortune down through 2026.

The bet that made his name

In December 2018, close to the bottom of that year’s crash, he moved half his net worth into bitcoin. He was 30 at the time and bitcoin was trading in the low thousands. That one decision, more than any fund fee or media deal, is why the question of his net worth is really a question about a single asset’s price.

His first crypto position went the other way. In 2016 he bought a mining rig and produced about five ether a day, each worth roughly $10. He sold nearly all of it when ether reached $150 to $200. Ether later traded above $4,000.

How he built the money

Pompliano, 38, did not start out in finance. He spent six years in the US Army as a sergeant and turned 21 while deployed to Iraq. He studied economics and sociology at Bucknell University, built and sold two small tech startups, then talked his way into a product manager role at Facebook in 2014 by reading a book on project management during the flight to the interview.

Inside Facebook he worked his way onto a small team handling Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg’s own social accounts. Before that he had founded a social media analytics company, Digaforce, and sold it in 2013.

Facebook led to Snapchat in 2015, and Snapchat ended badly. He was terminated within three weeks and later sued the company, a case a judge sent into private arbitration. He left California for North Carolina.

The recovery came through investing. In 2016 he and Jason Williams raised about $3.5 million for Full Tilt Capital and made 22 investments in 90 days, backing companies including EverlyWell, Brigit and Placer.ai. Morgan Creek Capital bought the fund in early 2018, and Pompliano co-founded Morgan Creek Digital alongside Mark Yusko and Williams. Their first crypto fund raised $40 million, far short of the billion they had set out to raise. A second raised $90 million.

Around the same time he started The Pomp Letter on Substack and launched a podcast in August 2018. The media side turned out to matter as much as the investing. The newsletter passed 270,000 subscribers and the podcast built an audience of more than half a million on YouTube alone. He sold his research firm, Reflexivity Research, to DeFi Technologies in early 2024, and published two collections of letters to his children starting in September 2024.

In June 2025 he founded ProCap BTC and took it public by merging with a blank-check company, Columbus Circle Capital Corp I. The deal closed that December and raised more than $750 million.

The company at the center of it

Because most of his measurable wealth sits in ProCap Financial, what happens there decides the number. The company holds bitcoin on its balance sheet and sells research and AI tools to individual investors. At the end of May 2026 it held about 5,405 bitcoin, with a net asset value near $3.47 a share while the stock changed hands at $2.15.

That gap has shaped the year. Management has spent 2026 buying back stock at a discount to the bitcoin behind each share, at one point selling roughly 52 bitcoin to fund a two-million-share repurchase. In April the company acquired CFO Silvia, an AI agent business for finance, and by July that platform had passed $50 billion in connected assets.

The first quarter of 2026 showed how exposed the business is. ProCap reported a net loss of $107.8 million, nearly all of it an unrealized markdown on the bitcoin it holds. Progress on the products has not lifted the share price either: ProCap’s entire market value was about $203 million on August 20, 2026. You can follow the filings and results on the company’s investor relations page.

His paper wealth there therefore rides on two things at once. One is the price of bitcoin. The other is how big a discount the market puts on a company that holds it.

What he actually gets paid

His salary at ProCap is $1 a year. His employment agreement grants him no personal equity award until BRR trades above $15 a share. At $2.24, that trigger sits far away, and his pay from the company he runs is effectively nothing.

That structure is deliberate. It ties almost all of his upside at the company to the share price recovering, rather than to a salary or a grant that pays out either way.

The income that does arrive comes from elsewhere. Newsletter subscriptions run from free to $10 a month or $500 a year. The podcast carries sponsors. There are book royalties, returns from Professional Capital Management, and his older fund positions: he stayed on as a general partner in both Morgan Creek Digital funds after stepping back from day-to-day work there.

Why no single figure holds up

Three pieces are missing, and each one is large.

  • His bitcoin is private. No filing captures it, and he has never published a number.
  • His private stakes have no market price. He has backed more than 200 companies, and those positions only get marked when a company raises money or sells.
  • His debts are invisible. Net worth is assets minus liabilities, and the second half of that sum is nowhere on the record.

There is also a timing problem. Filings are snapshots. The share count above describes April 6, 2026, and the price used to value it comes from August 20. A number that is right on one date can be off by a third a few weeks later.

Even the visible part refuses to sit still. Over the past year BRR has traded between $1.31 and $10.57. The same 14.6 million shares would be worth about $19 million at the low and roughly $155 million at the high. His ownership did not change once across that range.

About $33 million of Anthony Pompliano’s wealth is documented in SEC filings. The rest is real, but nobody outside his accountant can measure it.

Nothing in the public record supports that. ProCap Financial’s whole market value was about $203 million on August 20, 2026, and his beneficial stake in it comes to roughly $33 million. For his total to reach ten figures, his undisclosed bitcoin and private holdings would need to be around thirty times the size of his largest documented asset. He has not claimed a fortune of that size, and no filing shows one.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Anthony Pompliano worth in 2026?

No verified total exists. His documented ProCap Financial stake was worth about $33 million on August 20, 2026. His bitcoin, private investments and liabilities are undisclosed, so any full figure is an estimate rather than a fact.

How much bitcoin does Anthony Pompliano own?

He has never revealed a coin count or wallet. He has described bitcoin as more than half his net worth in 2019, 80% in 2020 and 95% by 2021, but those are percentages of an unknown total.

What is Anthony Pompliano’s salary at ProCap Financial?

One dollar a year. He receives no personal equity award unless BRR shares trade above $15, and the only company stock he bought himself was purchased on the open market in December 2025.

Is Anthony Pompliano still involved with Morgan Creek Digital?

He co-founded the firm in 2018 and left the day-to-day role in 2021, but he remained a general partner in both of its crypto funds, which raised $40 million and $90 million.

How does Anthony Pompliano make money from his podcast and newsletter?

The Pomp Letter sells subscriptions at $10 a month or $500 a year alongside a free tier, and the podcast earns from sponsorship. Both feed an audience of several hundred thousand across email and YouTube.

Conclusion

The reliable answer is narrow. Pompliano’s 16.43% beneficial stake in ProCap Financial was worth about $33 million on August 20, 2026, and that is the only slice of his wealth anyone can check. Add an undisclosed bitcoin position he has described as most of his money, plus stakes in more than 200 private companies, and the true total is clearly larger. How much larger depends on the price of bitcoin on the day you ask.
